Drawing Inspiration

drawing inspiration by Sam Taylor - www.samdrawsthings.com

In 2014 after going freelance as an illustrator, I started a new section of my blog called Drawing Inspiration.

This was in part inspired by Imogen Heap talking about how she doesn’t want to just write music sitting in a room on her own and so creates projects and opportunities to get out and connect with other people.

Having left a busy, friendly, collaborative team when I moved on from working for Froglife, I really felt drawn to finding new connections and experiences that would get me out and about drawing.

This has lead to a range of explorations, events and little expeditions so far:

A trip to the barn

Off to the farm

Into the woods

New Networks for Nature

A Wild Audience with

First Aid Kit

Cherry Blossom Hunting in Japan: Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Bluebell hunting

A Meating in the Woods

Here be Dragons

Baby summer adventures

I’m always looking for new places to go, people to talk to and things to see, so do get in touch if you’d like to meet up or have suggestions for events or venues that could be inspiring!

One of the things I’m a bit obsessed with at the moment is the plight of our bees, and this is one of my favourite pics from my Drawing Inspiration mission:
