Logo for Borealis Nature Co

It was lovely to get back to my roots as an outdoor educator with this fun project! Amanda-Marie runs the Borealis Nature Company, connecting families with the great outdoors in the Borealis Forest in Canada.

The feeling I wanted to capture in this project was that moment when you see something beautiful in nature, and you gasp a little bit – the beauty drops you our of your head and back to earth, back into your body.

We all know time in the outdoors is good for us, but sometimes we just get in our own way, or we forget, or its too cold or wet. We wanted to remind people of how good they can feel, how magical the natural world is and make the lure of getting outside irresistible and really fun!.

What we didn’t want to do is come across to kale-y! As it can when things are really good for you but they’re also a bit preachy and not fun. And you kind of think ‘yeah I should do that….but I also really like donuts…’

We started with a Pinterest board full of bears, owls and the Aurora, which I tied together into a rugged stamp design.
